The International Student Prairie Conference on Environmental Issues (Winnipeg, June 7 & 8, 2010) The International Student Prairie Conference on Environmental Issues is the fourth annual meeting between the University of Manitoba, Canada, and North Dakota State University and South Dakota State University, US. The purpose of this conference is to provide an international platform where graduate students can showcase their research, connect with fellow WEF members, and discuss current environmental issues with industrial and academic professionals from Canada and the United States. Topics include research relating to wastewater, water, and solid waste issues with a focus on the economics, design, and application of treatment strategies. Issues to be discussed relate to nutrient removal and recovery, micropollutants in wastewater, water management in natural water bodies and sewer systems, hog manure and landfill leachate.
